Welders / Shipfitters Needed Immediately - Per Diem + OT + Long Term Project
Welders
Responsible for the joining together of different types of metal materials with a variety of welding processes; the most basic of which are, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as “stick welding” and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) also known as “wire welding.” The shipyard environment is an around the clock manufacturing setting. This shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts.
Basic Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of one (1) year of work experience in FCAW (Flux Core) and SWAW (Stick) welding, the ability to pass military standard tests in the vertical (3G), horizontal (2G) and overhead (4G) positions.

Shipfitters
Shipfitter, also referred to as a Journeyman Shipfitter or a Boilermaker, is responsible for various tools and equipment used in the fabrication, assembling and erection of metal components at the various stages in constructing a marine vessel. This shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts.
Basic Qualifications
This position requires minimum of 2 years of trade experience or completion of a trade program at AIDT, read and interpret blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements, knowledge of the layout, fit-up and fabrication of steel plate and beam, and experience with various trade specific tools such as: grinder, hand torch, hydraulic and ratchet jack, chain fall and/or come-a-long, combination square, framing square, hand level and plumb bob.
